This is the other project that I did for CIU. This is a piece explaining the 5 core values of CIU. This was shot basically in one day on an HVX-200. We rented a doorway dolly for the dolly shots, and used mostly existing lighting. I think that it came out pretty well. Our Director of Photography for this was a student at the time, Adam Erickson.
I work for Columbia International University. Most of my job deals with media for Distance Education courses, if you want to see any of that you will have to enroll in a course. During 2007 and 2008 I headed the production of two video projects for the University. This one is a live switched, multi-camera shoot of the new University President vision casting to a group of alumni. We did just a little post-production on this one, but very little. We basically added a few graphics. I hate the way the logo comes in at the beginning but Marketing insisted on this one.
In 2008, the youth from St. Andrews Baptist Church went to Jonesboro, GA on a Mission Trip. This is their report video from that week. It was shot over 3 days and edited over the next three, another quick turn-around video. Do you see a pattern emerging?
In 2007 St. Andrews Baptist Church was lead to make sure that every state prisoner in the State of South Carolina received a copy of The Purpose Driven Life. With the help of churches all over South Carolina, the Dept. of Corrections, Prison Fellowship and Changing the Way, money was raised to purchase 29,000 copies of this book. These books were distributed and chaplains and ministers in prisons began Bible studies based around the book.
This video is used to help other organizations who would like to do something similar.
In 2007, the youth from St. Andrews Baptist Church went to Touched by an Angel Camp in Mississippi. This is the video that we showed during their mission trip report. Shot and edited over the week that we were at the camp, shown the Sunday that we returned.
A group of churches, ministries and individuals got together to provide a playground for the Ashton Apartments in Columbia, SC. This piece shows a portion of the install. It was shot over about 4 hours and edited the same day so that it could be shown the next morning. I think that it came out pretty well considering the time constraints.
